Common helmet orchid

What is this craziness? Like a glowing ball of lava being revealed behind burgundy red serrated veils. Maybe I’m going a little far, Corybas recurvus or helmet orchid, a native to the south west of WA growing predominantly in moist environments, prefering leaf litter.

They are tiny little things and certainly one of the more unusual orchids we have. Although the plants are ground hugging, rarely growing more than 2-3cm, once fertilized, then send up a seed capsule on a stem that grows from 10 to 20cm tall.

There are a handful of different helmet orchids, but the common is well, common.
